As mentioned in our forums, the official setting for Novus will be called Tyrlon, which is the name of island.
Today, I am happy to be able to show you the fantastic map drawn by Robert Altbauer, who just happens to be a fantastic artist.
As you can see, Tyrlon is a large island. It is approximately 600 miles along its longest dimension. Tyrlon sits in a tiny pocket dimension and the ring of clouds surrounding it, the storm wall, is actually the dimensional barrier separating the island from nearby dimensions.
Tyrlon has the dubious honor of being the place where many holes, tears, or rips in the dimensional barriers end up. This means that almost anything is possible to be found on Tyrlon, from dinosaurs to the occasional space alien (though this is very very rare). There have only been a small handful of times that a large enough group of being has arrived and been able to survive for any length of time.
The only city on the island is called Argus, and it is populated by Elves, Dwarves and Humans who have voluntarily colonized Tyrlon, thanks to the Elven knowledge of how to transverse the barrier from Tyrlon back to their home dimension. The colonists have been there for barely a century.
This map shows the major political divisions. The colonists from some normal world have settled between the Q’Tani and the Volyri peoples. Off to the west, there are communities of Orcs, Goblins and Kobolds. However, the very nature of the island means that there could be other, undiscovered communities of beings.
