If you’d like to use the Novus game system for your own materials, there are two ways to do so:
Fan Materials
If you’d like to create “fan” materials for free, you can use the “Novus Fan” logo below. Firehawk Games defines “fan materials” as any material created for personal usage and posted on a personal website. It does not include materials written for commercial products such as PDFs and/or even free e-zines.
There is no cost to this, and you don’t need to submit anything for approval. However, we would really appreciate it if you send us a link to your website if you have posted this online, so that we can add it to the Links page. You can submit the link by using the Contact Us form.
In doing so, you agree to the following terms and conditions:
- Firehawk Games grants to the licensee the non-exclusive, non-assignable license to reference the Novus RPG in their game, adventure, supplement, sourcebook, or other product.
The licensee agrees to use, unaltered dimension and at a size no smaller than 1.5 inches by 1.5 inches, the “Novus Fan” logo on the front of the game packaging, manual, CD cover, “Splash Page” (including web pages), or other “front” display.

- The licensee agrees to place the following notice in a legible format and a conspicuous location.
“This game references the Novus RPG, available from Firehawk Games at http://www.firehawkgames.com. Novus and all associated logos and trademarks are copyrights of Firehawk Games. Used with permission. Firehawk Games makes no representation or warranty as to the quality, viability, or suitability for purpose of this product.”
- Licensee indemnifies Licensor, other licensees of the Property, their officers, employees, agents, licensees, and assigns, and holds them harmless against all loss, damage, injury, and expense, including reasonable attorney’s fees, from any breach of this Agreement.
- The licensee agrees not to reproduce material from the Novus rulebook or any other copyrighted work without the express written consent of Firehawk Games. Entertainment Group or the copyright holder.
- Firehawk Games reserves all intellectual property rights to Novus, including, but not limited to, all copyrights, trademarks, hobby game, publishing, entertainment, licensing and merchandising rights.
- Firehawk Games reserves all rights to its Intellectual Properties, including those used as examples or illustrations in the Novus rule book, promotional material, or published works.
- This licensee agrees not to charge for the product in any way, shape, or form.
- Firehawk Games reserves the right to revoke or alter any aspect of this license as it deems necessary.
For Commercial Publication
If you want to release your work commercially, you must contact us at licensing@firehawkgames.com with your plan and some samples of your work. We’ll work with each company on a case-by-case basis. Once we grant your company the license, you can make whatever you want without submitting it for further approval, as long as you follow the guidelines below.
Be aware that we’re looking for HIGH production values–meaning great art, trade dress, and professional layout–as much as we are great content.
There is no fee for this license.
Once your product is underway, we highly encourage you to visit our forums and let our fans know about it. Upon request, we will also provide you with your own sub-forum on our messageboards.
And while this is not a requirement, we’d sure love a copy of your work for our collection, personal enjoyment, and so that we can tell those we meet at conventions and stores about it. PDF or print is fine!
The License

- The licensee agrees to place the following notice in a legible format and a conspicuous location within two pages of the “cover:”
“This game references the Novus game system, available from Firehawk Games at www.firehawkgames.com. Novus and all associated logos and trademarks are copyrights of Firehawk Games. Used with permission. Firehawk Games makes no representation or warranty as to the quality, viability, or suitability for purpose of this product.”
