Hello everybody! Let me introduce myself: My name is Raphael or Raf for short and I am currently writing Acimera, a setting for the Novus game system. I will use this blog to talk about my experiences of creating and producing the Acimera setting. I’m completely new to writing and publishing gaming material, trying out something many gamers have probably thought about, namely crossing the border between consumer and creator in the gaming industry. I have embarked on this journey, not knowing the destination or the course I will take, just a vague idea of putting this setting out as my guiding light.

At the beginning there was a time of intense brainstorming and talking with James, whom most of you know as Witchking20k. From our conversations sprung a very comprehensive picture of how the world of Acimera would feel and look like and at some point I began writing it all down. My plan was to just start writing for some time and see if I had the discipline and stamina to keep this up for long enough to actually produce a substantial ammount of material. As it turned out, I apparently am able to write a good deal, if I can force myself to sit down and actually do it. After about two months of part-time writing (more part than time, I’m afraid), I had about 10.000 words of draft, enough to convince me, that this was doable.
